This castle is to be found in the hilly countryside near the city of Radgona (Radkersburg). Today, the city's suburb, located on the right side of the Mura River, belongs to Slovenia, whereas Radgona, to the left side, is in Austria (Styria).
The castle was built in the twelfth century as a fortress against attacks from Hungarians, and later from Turks.
The River Mur is the natural boundary and this wonderful old castle lies on the Slovenian side of the river. It is in a spectacular setting and the Slovenian government who are currently restoring it are looking for suitable partners/investors to bring the castle back to life.

The castle would make a fabulous luxury hotel or corporate headquarters and there will be no restrictions on the proposed use of the restored building.

Stunning castle once owned by Napoleon Bonaparte.

The castle is situated right on the lakeside in its own grounds with ancient trees, water springs and breathtaking views onto the Swiss Alps. This romantic and historic castle, dating from the early 17th century, was once the home of the adopted daughter of Napoleon Bonaparte & the Queen of Holland

Directly on the shore of Lake Constance this historic castle has had a number of famous owners in addition to Hortense de Beauharnais, until it changed hands again 1988 and the current owner finished the extensive restoration work in 1998. Set in 7,000m2 of parkland with some of the sequoia trees being over 250 years old, the views of the Swiss Alps are stunning. The ground floor has six reception rooms, lake terrace and many other rooms, whilst on the first floor are eight+ rooms and the second floor has six bedrooms, bathrooms, further rooms and terraces.

The antique furniture and chandeliers are available to purchase under separate negotiations. The castle would be perfect for an international cookery school, 5* boutique hotel, wonderful private residence just to name a few uses. It is a 5 minute drive to the Swiss border and a 50 km drive to the International airport at Zurich, with the ski resort of St Moritz 90 minutes away.

There is an existing blueprint to develop the buildings into a compound of 32 independent luxury residences. It is possible to access the property from three different locations thus the development of independent luxury residences is relatively easy.

The main villa has several independent entrances with various rooms communicating from inside. The lovely gardens allow for a variety of solutions offering outstanding views to independent units.

The other buildings have a number of separate entrances and windows on various levels as well and could easily be converted into independent units. Currently the volume of the buildings is about 16,500 cubic meters.

The property sits on top of a hill 350 m2 above sea level surrounded by tall and ancient trees which hide it from the road. There is a 400 m2 driveway and the estate joins an extensive state owned park which includes a riding center.

The vineyard was planted in 1973 and include the following varieties, 400 Trebbiano vines, 122 Verdello vines, 102 Malvasia vines, 34 Grechetto vines and 34 Drupeccio. The yearly production started out at around 50 quintals, approximately 5.5 tons but due to lack of irrigation and generally warmer summers in the last 15 years production has leveled at around 3 tons of exceptionally good quality grapes.

The olive groves have been neglected in the last few years and is used by the current caretakers to produce olive oil as they see fit with the only obilgation being to provide the owners with extra virgin olive oil for their family use.

This amazing borgo is located just 12 kms from the Orvieto exit on highway A1 which is the backbone of north-south travel in Italy. The back road reaching Bagni di Orvieto is in excellent condition and has very little traffic.

Downtown historic Orvieto is 10/15 minutes away by car and Rome is reached in around 45 minutes, Florence in under one hour and Tuscany around one and half hours.

A detailed history is available from the current owner.
