In 1841 the Reverend James Jackson assigned the land and the chapel for the nominal sum of five shillings to trustees for the term of one thousand years. On 19 October 1983 the building became listed Grade 2.
During the major refurbishment in 1996 the roof was replaced and the original pulleys for raising and lowering the original candelabra were found. They remain within the new roof.
Bath & North East Somerset (Listed Buildings Department) accepts the use may be changed to residential.
Stone built detached chapel with an internal eaves height of 5.46 metres (approximately 18 ft). Within the main auditorium is a mezzanine gallery area.
